Missy
Our little Missy passed away today, February 8, 2016.
She lived a long life – 21 years.
I adopted her through CareCats.org in 2001.
Like a lot of cats in a new environment, she hid away for the first two weeks – under the bed, behind the washer and dryer and in any other safe nook she could squeeze into.
When she finally was brave enough to approach my hand and feel it petting her, she never looked back and became a very affectionate kitty.
Through the following years she acquired a host of nicknames brought about through her antics. “Flying Wallenda” for her ability to jump from object to object at any height; “Missy Masseuse” for the neck rubs she gave; “Nurse Nightingale” for her close cuddling when I or Laura was sick. There was also “Yoga Kitty” for the various poses she struck while grooming herself.
Along the way were “Craklin’ Rosie” for her broken purr, “Rubber Toes”, “Fuzzy Butt” and “Miss Pewee” for her passing of fragrant gas!
She was a gentle kitty and had never bitten anyone. She will be missed by all in her household, including Sammy, her “cat mate”.
Missy and her mouse, which is 15 years old. She would “capture” it in her mouth and meow loudly.
